Purpose

The Long Island ADA strives to strengthen the liberal conscience of America and to carry on the progressive tradition of the New Deal and the Great Society. The Long Island chapter participates in the policy decisions of the Americans for Democratic Action by communicating with its leaders and attending its national conventions.

LIADA sponsors talks by community leaders, elected representatives, and candidates for office.

LIADA endorses Long Island candidates for the United States Senate and House of Representatives, for the New York State Senate and Assembly, for the Nassau and Suffolk County Legislatures, and for town and local offices.
